Why Rising Sun Soap is Different from the Rest
Most commercial soaps aren’t really soaps. The are detergents that have harsh chemicals added to produce a soft and fluffy lather. While effective for cleaning, they often contain toxic chemicals, known carcinogens and some even have industrial antifreeze as an ingredient.
Hand made soaps are true soaps. They are made with animal or vegetable oils and butters and lye. They are much less drying than commercial soaps because the contain glycerine, a natural byproduct of the reaction that causes soap to form. They can be enhanced by different oils and butters, herbs and essential oils.
Rising Sun soaps have something special over all other soaps. They are made using a secret, unique new process. When first made, soap is highly alkaline and as it cures, it drops down to the neutral ph range. This takes several weeks. The initial high alkaline range can destroy up to 50% of the benefits of the ingredients.
French milling is a way to minimize the loss of beneficial ingredients
French Milling is taking soap that has cured, then grating it, heating it to the melting point and then adding special oils and butters to this neutral base. While it increases the benefits of the ingredients that are added, the high heat also causes the oils to break down so some loss of benefits still occur.
The process invented by Rising Sun Soap Company bypasses all of the above. When the lye, water and oils are first mixed together, a natural ingredient is immediately added to lower the ph to the neutral range. A natural catalyst is added to keep the reaction going at a lower ph level and then the special oils, butters and essential oils are added to the now neutral bases. This eliminates the need for high heat and a lengthy curing process and yields 100% of the benefits of the ingredients .
Ingredients vs More Ingredients
Many soaps list great ingredients on the label. However, when you use them, you see and feel few benefits. This is because some of the beneficial ingredients are costly, so soapmakers use small portions of them. At Rising Sun Soaps, we use the correct amount of the higher priced ingredients, not a trace amount to sound good and up the profit margin. As a result, our soaps feed, nourish, cleanse, balance and regenerate the skin.
All of Rising Sun Soaps are made with pure, crushed silk cocoons. Silk has 18 water soluble amino acids, 2 of which have been proven to slow the formation of wrinkles. As with all of our ingredients, we use the amount necessary to achieve the benefits.
We only use pure essential oils. Many soap makers use fragrance and parfumes, which are synthetic and may contain known carcinogens. The lavender we use is pure Bulgarian Lavender. Many soap makers that list ‘lavender’ or’ lavender augustiflora’ on their labels are actually using lavender 40/42, which is NOT a pure essential oil. It is a blend of lavenders with acetone added as a stabilizer.
